My project ‘Love Around The World’ explores the love we share as humans and the importance of connection. I have asked people who I have met on my travels to write down their thoughts about love in my journal.
The idea for this project came about from my own personal experience of love and an interest to explore this question. I seek to build a community where we share ideas about love, as articulated by people from around the world.
Life is not about moving on, it’s about feeling and seeing people for who they truly are.
Love to me is experience, full of highs and lows but with the right person and people, everlasting!
Love is the only thing that makes one happy. Love always is the answer.
I don’t believe there’s “the one” for you. I believe there’s one at a time, throughout your life. Don’t fix something that’s broken when there’s something different, new and maybe greater out there.
Love is looking into another persons eyes and seeing them look deeper into yours. And also making the mundane worthwhile.
Love is probably for me… friends that know you inside and out.
Love feels like listening to that one good house music track over and over again. You just cannot get enough of it. You just can’t stop dancing and smiling.
Love is about trusting, giving part of yourself to someone else.
To me, love is when you can be unapologetically yourself and the world, with all it’s problems, fades away and you’re left with a deep sense of belonging and peace.
I love watching the sun go down with the people I care about.
Love is meant to be easy, it’s supposed to make you feel serene, confident and happy. It should be simple and peaceful.
I think love is shown by how you treat people and what you can do for them.
For me love is all about the way you care about other people. It’s wanting the best, it’s the things you do for someone, the small things you notice and remember. I think it’s actually in the tiniest places that I think love is the most beautiful: it’s the note my Mum leaves on my bed before a big trip, it’s the fact I see a magnet and I think about my Grandma and the fridge collection, its the postcards my friends send me. Eventually, for me, it’s the things that make us feel good.
It’s like a flower it can grow naturally in the most unexpected of places. Sometimes you’ve got to water it, take care of it, feed it with light, like a flower it’s beautiful, sometimes it comes with thorns that prick you. Sometimes it comes with a sweet scent.
Flowers are something to be shared but they’re also ephemeral and can wilt, with the right conditions they can grow right back. Look after your flowers , and cherish the smile of whomever is lucky enough to receive them.
Love is choosing not to be afraid of living…starting to appreciate the things that make the world a really good scenery to perform in. Love is thinking intensely and not being afraid while doing it.
Love is like a tennis game. Always showing affection, continually going back and forth. But when someone forgets to hit back, you have to have to hit twice as hard to stay in the game.
